    HOOSIERS IN 9TH AFTER FIRST DAY OF HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL

    Iowa City, IA - The Indiana men's golf team kicked off their season on Saturday by playing the first two rounds of the Hawkeye Invitational at the Finkbine Golf Course located in Iowa City, Iowa.

    The Hoosiers find themselves in 9th place after the first day with a team score of 588, 17 strokes behind of leader Kent who posted a score of 571.

    Junior Steve Wheatcroft led the Hoosiers by posting a score of 141, good enough for sixth place after 36 holes. Freshmen Ben Davidson and Aldo Jordan-King showed well in their first rounds as Hoosiers, both posting scores of 148.

    I.U. will have a chance to improve upon saturday's scores as the tournament concludes with 18 holes being played on Sunday.
