    ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The eighth annual Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational will feature one of the strongest fields of any tournament this season with eight of the 15 teams competing ranked in the top 21 in the country, led by No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Texas.

Arkansas is the defending champion and is in the field once again this season. They posted a team score of 854 (+14) to win by 13 strokes last year over Florida.

The tournament will see teams play 18 holes per day over three days, with play starting by tee times off holes No. 1 and No. 10

    THE FIELD THIS WEEK
Here is a list of teams in the field this weekend:

#1 Alabama, #7 Arkansas, Augusta State, Baylor, Clemson, Florida, #13 Florida State, #14 Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, #8 Oklahoma State, #21 Southern Methodist, #9 Stanford, #3 Texas, Texas Tech

BIG TEN GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Senior David Mills picked up his first career Big Ten weekly honor on Monday, when the conference selected him as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. The Evansville native earned the award after a T4 finish at the Northern Intercollegiate last weekend. He posted rounds of 74, 68 and 72 on his way to his seventh career top 5 finish in a tournament.

    NEW FACES IN THE LINEUP
With David Mills the only regular from last year in the lineup again this week, there will be some very talented, yet inexperienced players in the lineup for the Cream and Crimson this week.

Making their second straight appearance of the season will be junior Nicholas Grubnich, sophomore Max Kollin and true freshman Will Seger. All three gained more and more confidence with each round last weekend at Rich Harvest Farms and will look to carry that over into a strong tournament this week.

Sean Stone, a sophomore from Evansville, will be making his 2013-14 debut with the Hoosiers. He played in five tournaments last year, four of which were as an individual, and posted a scoring average of 75.27.

    TALKING IU MEN'S GOLF
Coach Mayer talks about the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational and looks back at the team's performance at the Northern Intercollegiate last week.

    GOING LOW
David Mills' second round score of 68 at the Northern Intercollegiate was tied for the best round of the day on Saturday and put him in a position to compete for the individual title on the final day. It was also his lowest round since shooting a 66 in April of 2012.

    HOOSIERS AT OLYMPIA FIELDS
