I.U. WRAPS-UP HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL WITH 3RD PLACE FINISH

Iowa City, IA - The Indiana University men's golf team showed some character on Sunday as they finished the Hawkeye Invitational in 3rd place after starting the day in 9th place. Despite tough conditions, the team posted a score of 880 (294-294-292) falling short of second place by just one stroke.

"As a team we acheived most of our goals for this tournament. I'm looking forward to playing again and improving upon this weeks performance," said head coach Mike Mayer.

Freshman Aldo Jordan-King led the I.U. squad on Sunday posting a final round score of 71 and a three round total of 219 (75-73-71), good enough for an eleventh place tie. Junior Steve Wheatcroft slipped from his first day standing of 6th but contributed a solid three round score of 220 (71-71-78).
