Next Up for IU Men's Golf ... Olympia Fields

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's golf team will compete in one of, if not the top, collegiate golf tournament in the country from Sept. 17-19 as Head Coach Mike Mayer's squad heads to Chicago, Ill., for the 2010 Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational. Ten of the 15 teams competing are ranked in the >Golf World preseason top-25 with an 11th school receiving votes.
"With such a short turnaround from Wolf Run last weekend, its hard to prepare for this week," said Coach Mayer. "But I really like the team going into Olympia Fields. This is with out a doubt the strongest field we'll play all year."
This prestigious event is held at the Olympia Fields Country Club (par 70, 7,157-yard) with three consecutive days of 18 holes. Live scoring will be provided at www.golfstat.com. Tee times range from 8-9:45 a.m. each day of the competition.
The complete field includes (World Golf ranking in parenthesis): Arizona State (12), Augusta State (3), Alabama (15), California (RV), Duke (19), Florida (8), Florida State (13), Illinois (16), Indiana, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oklahoma State (1), Purdue, Stanford (2) and Texas (11).
