Inside the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's golf team heads to the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge, Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 3-4, in Chicago. Northwestern will host the event at The Glen Club. The course is set up as a par 72 with a yardage of 7,149.
In its second year, the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge features the top programs from both conferences competing against each other in a 54-hole tournament. Last season, Minnesota earned the team championship, while Alejandro Canizares of Arizona State won medalist honors at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.
The event consists of three rounds, 36 holes played on Monday and the final 18 holes taking place on Tuesday. Along with Indiana and Northwestern, five Big Ten teams in addition to seven Pac-10 squads will participate in the event. Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State and Purdue round out the Big Ten contingent, while Arizona, Arizona State, California, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington represent the Pac-10. Illinois and Michigan State did not participate in last year's event.
Tournament play begins Monday with a shotgun first-round (18) start at 8:30 a.m. The second round (18) starts with a shotgun start following the completion of round one. On Tuesday, the final round commences from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees at 8:45 a.m.
