    Trio of Hoosiers to Compete on PGA Tour This Weekend

    Former Hoosiers Shaun Micheel (1988-91), Jeff Overton (2002-05) and Steve Wheatcroft (1998-01) are playing in the PGA Tour's Viking Classic this weekend. The event is being held at Annadale Golf Club in Madison, Miss., from Thursday-Sunday.

    Micheel, the 2003 PGA champion, has recorded six top 25s and two top 10s in 24 events this season. He is ranked No. 81 in the world and finished 99th in the FedExCup Standings.

    Overton is in position to secure his PGA Tour Card for the 2008 season. He currently sits 107th on the money list with the top 125 players earning their cards for next year. The Evansville, Ind., native has a pair of top-10 finishes in 14 events, collecting the best finish of his career as a runner-up at the Wyndham Championship (Aug. 16-19).

    Wheatcroft has played in 19 events this season and four Nationwide Tour tournaments. He earned his best finish of the campaign at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee (July 19-22), where he tied for 18th place.
