Franklin, Ind., The IU men's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds at The Legends of Indiana Intercollegiate golf tournament in Franklin, IN. The Hoosiers turned in rounds of 295 and 290 (585) over the Legends Golf Course, leaving them 28 strokes behind the leader, Toledo 278-279 (557). IU was led by senior Brent Landry (142), whose pair of 71's were good enough for a share of fifth place.

Toledo was tough today, firing a team total of 557, a whopping 19 strokes under par. Toledo has leader Tim Rice, two players tied for second, Chuck Radabaugh and Richard Elliott and a player tied for fifth, Ashley Wilt.

Junior John Barry 74-73 (147) was the only Hoosier to crack the top 25, coming in tied for 25th.

"We started off shaky today," coach Mike Mayer said. "We're still searching for someone to step forward. Landry did a nice job today." Mayer continued, "We played a solid second round and we're capable of playing better. Hopefully we can go out tomorrow and play well."

The tournament will conclude tomorrow with 18 holes to be played in the morning.
