ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The Hoosiers will be competing in the second annual Pinetree Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. The tournament is being hosted by Kennesaw State University and will feature 12 teams.
In the inaugural event last year, the host Owls won the tournament by 24 strokes over second place Ball State. Kennesaw State also had each of the top three individual finishers a year ago, led by Jimmy Beck's 7-under par total of 209.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday.

LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Hoosiers were on the course, they finished sixth out of 14 teams at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate in Carmel, Ind. The top finisher for the Hoosiers was senior Hugo Menendez at T23 while David Mills posted his third Top 25 finish in four events this season with a T25 finish. Freshman Keegan Vea had the round of the tournament for the Hoosiers, carding a final round 2-under par 70.
INDIANA IN THE RANKINGS
The Hoosiers have played a very strong fall portion of the schedule and their solid play has the ranked No. 61 in the Golfstat rankings and No. 56 in the Golfweek rankings this week.
The Hoosiers will have all three freshmen competing this week at Pinetree, including two that will be on the team - Will Seger and Keegan Vea. It is the second straight tournament that all three will be participating. Seger has played in each tournament so far this season while Vea will be making his third tournament appearance of the season. Another freshman - Andrew Havill - will be playing in his fourth tournament of the year and will be competing as an individual
BIG TEN GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Senior David Mills picked up his first career Big Ten weekly honor on Monday, when the conference selected him as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. The Evansville native earned the award after a T4 finish at the Northern Intercollegiate last weekend. He posted rounds of 74, 68 and 72 on his way to his seventh career top 5 finish in a tournament.
Through the first four tournaments of the year, six different IU players have recorded at least one Top 25 finish. Senior David Mills has three Top 25 finishes, including a T4 finish at the Northern Intercollegiate, T12 at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational and T25 at Crooked Stick.
Sophomore Max Kollin finished T24 at the Northern Intercollegiate while Andrew Fogg and Keegan Vea checked in at T24 last time out at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. Hugo Menendez checked in with a T23 finish at Crooked Stick last week as well.
David Mills' second round score of 68 at the Northern Intercollegiate was tied for the best round of the day on Saturday and put him in a position to compete for the individual title on the final day. It was also his lowest round since shooting a 66 in April of 2012.
On a very challenging course at Crooked Stick Golf Club last week, freshman Keegan Vea carded a pair of eagles in his final round on his way to a 2-under par 70.
