November 1, 1998 HOOSIERS CLOSE OUT FALL SEASON IN 14TH PLACE
Stanford, Calif., The IU men's golf team finished the fall season at the Nelson Intercollegiate in 14th place with a total score of 897 (303-301-293), 45 strokes over par. The Hoosiers finished 37 strokes behind winner Colorado State 860 (283-294-283), who came in at 8-over par.
Luke Donald 205 (67-71-67) of Northwestern was the individual winner, finishing at 8-under par and one stroke ahead of Stanford's Joel Kribel 206 (67-72-67), who came in a 7-under par. IU's top finisher was Corey Sullivan 223 (74-76-73) who grabbed a share of 45th place at 10-over par.
The Nelson marked the end of the fall golf season. The men's golf team will be back in action in the spring. March 11th through 13th it will travel to Ocala, Florida to play in the Golden Ocala Intercollegiate.
