Campillo Captures Third Place at College All-America Golf Classic

EL PASO, Texas - Jorge Campillo continues to add his impressive playing resume, posting a third-place showing at the 34th Annual Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic on Tuesday. Campillo fired a seven-under 64 in his third and final round, coming within one stroke of the top spot on the leaderboard.
For the event, Campillo carded a three-round total of 208 (-5). The competition was held at the 6,842-yard, par-72 El Paso Country Club. Thirty-six holes were played on Monday, followed by 18 holes Tuesday. The only players invited to participate are first-, second-, third-team or honorable mention All-Americans from a season ago.
Campillo began by shooting even par in his opening round. He then ended the first day in a tie for 11th place and six strokes back from the leader after recording a 73 in his second round.
The Caceres, Spain native stormed up the leaderboard on day two, needing just 64 strokes to finish his final round. The biggest flurry came at the very end as Campillo birdied holes 16, 17 and 18 for a four-under back nine.
