2012 (GRADUATE STUDENT)Saw his first action as a Hoosier in a 2-1 victory over Saint Louis ... had one shot and set-up the sequence for Eriq Zavaleta's game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory over Cincinnati to win the Billiken Classic ... came in off the bench in a 3-0 win over Clemson ... came in off the bench against No. 4 Akron ... saw action in a 2-0 win at Ohio State ... came in off the bench in a 1-0 win at Penn State ... was part of Indiana's 2-0 win over Butler ... helped IU to its eighth NCAA title ... appeared in nine matches.
PRIOR TO INDIANAPlayed three seasons at Brown ... led the Bears in scoring in 2011 with eight goals and three assists (19 points) ... a starter in 15 of 20 matches played ... helped lead Brown to a 12-5-3 record and the third round of the NCAA Tournament ...had an assist in a 3-2 win over Fairfield in the first round of the NCAA Tournament ... assisted on the game-winning goal against Harvard and had two goals in a 3-2 overtime win against Princeton, including the game winner ... had a score against Kentucky and both goals in a 2-0 victory at South Carolina ... also added game-winning goals in a 2-0 win over Temple and a 2-1 win over George Mason ... in three years at Brown, Popolizio appeared in 52 matches, making 18 starts ... finished with 13 goals and four assists ... the Bears advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of his three seasons, making third-round appearances the last two years ... was also a varsity wrestler at Brown, competing with the squad all four seasons.
PREP/PERSONALPlayed club soccer for Clifton Park Premier and played five seasons of ENY ODP ... earned four letters at Shenendehowa Central HS, helping lead the team to a New York state championship ... was the leading scorer in the suburban council as a junior and senior ... as a senior named league MVP, all-state honoree and all-region selection ... a three-time state place finisher in New York in wrestling and was a state finalist in 2007.
