    Scored 29 goals and 12 assists as a freshman at Granite Bay High School, helping the Grizzlies to a 26-0-1 record in 2010-11 ... that is the most goals ever scored by a Granite Bay freshman ... as a sophomore he put up numbers of 23 goals and nine assists, with a team record of 20-3-4 ... Thompson's high school career was cut short due to an injury his junior season, but during his two-year career he led Granite Bay to a league title, sectional championship and a season-ending ranking of No. 5 in the nation ... has spent time with the San Jose Earthquakes as part of their Academy program, including a stint with the reserve team ... Thompson is the son of Nelle and IU Hall of Famer Gregg Thompson, who co-captained IU's first NCAA title team in 1982, scoring both goals in the 2-1, eight-overtime win over Duke ... he is also the younger brother of Tanner, who is also a freshman on this year's Hoosier squad ... older brother Tyler plays soccer at Stanford ... also has one sister (Tatum) .... his cousin, Bobby De St. Aubin, also played for the Hoosiers and was part of the 2000 and 2001 College Cup teams ... born Aug. 15, 1995.
