Soccer Coaches Symposium Set for April 5
Feb. 26, 2013
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's soccer staff will hold its annual Indiana Soccer Coaches Symposium on April 5 in Bloomington. The event will culminate with a match between the Hoosiers and Xavier University at 7:30 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium.
Coaches from around the Midwest are invited to take part in this day of professional development. The coaching sessions give attendees an opportunity to grow with the game, while field sessions will address offensive and defensive principles, technical and tactical development and positional play.
"We are excited to host our annual coaches symposium where we have an opportunity to share ideas and activities covering many different aspects of the game," said IU head coach Todd Yeagley. "It's a wonderful opportunity for professional development. The symposium concludes with a great match (IU vs. Xavier) where the coaching staffs from IU and Xavier will be available for match analysis and Q and A."
The clinicians at this year's event include Yeagley, IU assistant coaches Brian Maisonneuve and Ernie Yarborough, Xavier University head coach Andy Fleming, and Indiana Youth Soccer Association Director of Coaching Education Steve Franklin.
Morning sessions will take place in Mellencamp Pavilion. Clinicians will also host an analysis and question and answer session at halftime of the IU-Xavier match.
