Coaches Symposium, Match with Xavier this Friday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's soccer staff will hold its annual Indiana Soccer Coaches Symposium on April 5 in Bloomington. The event will culminate with a match between the Hoosiers and Xavier University at 7:30 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium.
Coaches from around the Midwest are invited to take part in this day of professional development. The coaching sessions give attendees an opportunity to grow with the game, while field sessions will address offensive and defensive principles, technical and tactical development and positional play.
The clinicians at this year's event include Yeagley, IU assistant coaches Brian Maisonneuve and Ernie Yarborough, Xavier University head coach Andy Fleming, and Indiana Youth Soccer Association Director of Coaching Education Steve Franklin.
Morning sessions will take place in Mellencamp Pavilion. Clinicians will also host an analysis and question and answer session at halftime of the IU-Xavier match. For more information, call the IU soccer office at 812-855-0051.
After Friday Hoosier fans will have one more chance to catch the team in action this spring as IU plays host to the U-20 Mexican National Team on April 28 at 2 p.m. in Bloomington. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids/students and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 866-IUSPORTS. The Mexican squad recently won the CONCACAF title and is preparing for the U-20 World Cup this summer in Turkey.
