Hoosier Soccer Adds Shaw to 2013 Class

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's soccer team announced today that Columbus North's (Ind.) Brad Shaw will continue his soccer career with the Hoosiers beginning in the fall.
"We are very excited to have Brad join our program," said head coach Todd Yeagley. "Brad helped lead Columbus North to a state championship this past fall. He is a gifted athlete, possessing excellent strength and speed with a wonderful upside. Having the top prospects from Indiana decide to attend Indiana University is very important for our foundation as we continue to pursue championships."
As a senior in 2012, Shaw helped lead the Bull Dogs to the 2A Indiana State Championship, as well as sectional and regional titles and a national ranking of 14th. Shaw was named the team's MVP after leading the squad in scoring with 17 goals and eight assists in 22 matches, earning first-team all-district honors.
Shaw appeared in 16 games as a junior with 14 goals and eight assists as Columbus North won conference, regional and sectional titles and finished as runner-up in the 2A state title game.
Shaw was also a rugby standout in high school and was named to the High School All-American rugby team in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He was a member of Rugby Indiana All Stars and has represented the United States at events in Canada, England, Chile Uruguay and Argentina.
A native of Manchester, England, Shaw came with his family to Columbus in 2007. His older brother Lewis currently attends IU and is a member of the club rugby team.
