BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Former Indiana University All-American Will Bruin was one of 23 players named by U.S. Men's National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann to represent the United States in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Competing in the tournament for the 12th time, the U.S. seeks its fifth confederation championship title.

The winner of the 2013 Gold Cup will compete in a playoff with the winner of the 2015 event for the right to represent CONCACAF at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. The U.S. has reached the final of the Gold Cup in five of the last six tournaments, winning three titles.

This will be the first major international tournament appearance for Bruin as a member of the U.S. Men's National Team. Bruin played at Indiana from 2008-10, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors in 2008 and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year accolades in 2010. Bruin was among the nation's leaders in goals scored in 2010 and was runner-up for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy, college soccer's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. He is in his third season with Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo.

The U.S. will open group play against Belize on July 9 at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Ore., before traveling to Sandy, Utah, to face Cuba at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 13 in their second group match. The United States finishes the group in East Hartford, Conn., against Costa Rica on July 16 at Rentschler Field. The finals match of the tournament will take place July 28 at Soldier Field in Chicago. For complete tournament information, visit www.ussoccer.com.
