BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University head men's soccer coach Todd Yeagley announced today that Kevin Robson has been promoted to the role of assistant coach for the program. Robson begins his duties immediately.

"We are really excited to add Kevin to our full-time staff," Yeagley said. "We were able to work with him this past year and saw the qualities he brings that I think will make a seamless transition.

"He's hungry and has a great personality and work rate. The players really enjoy working with him and I know he'll be a great fit within our staff."

"I am really excited and honored to be the new Assistant Coach at Indiana University," Robson said. "I want to thank Head Coach Todd Yeagley and Associate Head Coach Brian Maisonneuve for giving me this fantastic opportunity. They are two of the best coaches in the country and getting the chance to work with them closer and coach at my alma mater is very special to me. I can't wait to get started and work with the very talented group of players we have returning."

Robson takes over the assistant coach position vacated by Ernie Yarborough, who was named head men's soccer coach at Stetson University on July 31.

For the past year Robson has served with the IU men's soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach. During that time he was responsible for on-field warm ups and cool downs before and after training sessions, preparing video clips of upcoming opponents using Match Analysis and preparing all post-match reports. He also assisted in coordinating team travel during the season and developed new staff tools including practice sheets, scouting reports and a booklet of training sessions.

In addition to his duties with the Hoosiers, Robson served as head coach for the U-16 boys and girls at Alliance Soccer Club in Bloomington, with both teams winning the Center Grove SCSA Classic. In its first year of existence, Robson worked with top players from Bloomington, Columbus and Center Grove.

Prior to coming to Indiana in July 2013, Robson was an account manager at Anheuser-Busch in Denver, Colorado, while also serving as head coach of the U-18 and U-14 boys for Real Colorado.

A 2007 graduate of Indiana University with a degree in communications and broadcasting, Robson played at Indiana from 2003-06 and was a member of the 2003 and 2004 National Championship teams. He was also a member of three Big Ten title teams in 2003, 2004 and 2006. In 2007 Robson served as an undergraduate coach with the Hoosiers.
