INDIANA FALLS TO No. 18 ST. LOUIS

Bloomington, Ind.-- The No. 1 ranked Indiana Hoosiers lost to No.18 Saint Louis today in the championship game of the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic 1-0 in double-overtime.
The game was a close battle from the very beginning as each team had good chances on goal. At the end of the first period, both teams tallied two shots a piece.
Indiana had several chances in regulation to win the game as they outshot St. Louis 4-1 in the second period, but they were unable to score. Ryan Mack led the Hoosiers with three shots.
The Billikens used their defense to win the game holding IU shotless in the two overtime periods. In the second overtime, Billiken Jeff DiMaria grabbed the ball off a restart and hit an 18 yard blast past IU freshman goalkeeper Doug Warren in the 111th minute for the 1-0 win.
With the victory, St. Louis capped Indiana's 27 game home winning streak that began October 13, 1996 against Bowling Green. The Hoosiers lost that game at home 2-0.
Indiana is back in action this weekend at the Brown/adidas Classic in
Providence, Rhode Island. The Hoosiers face Yale on Friday, Sept. 10 at
5 p.m. Following that game, IU plays Brown at 1:30 p.m.
