Competed in the 200 freestyle (54th-1:42.99), 500 freestyle (40th-4:30.67) and 1,650 freestyle (28th-15:43.05) at the Big Ten Championships ... seventh in the 500 free and 15th in the 200 free at the Hoosierland Open ... fifth in the 500 free at Kentucky, and eighth at Texas ... placed fourth in the 1,000 freestyle at Louisville with a season-best time of 9:29.56 ... seventh in the 1,000 free vs. Purdue ... sixth in the mile at mile at Michigan (16:12.10) ... also took fifth in the event at Texas.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2008-09)
Was the top Hoosier finisher in the 1,650 freestyle at the Big Ten Championships with a time of 15:11.76 ... also placed 15th in the 500 free, including a career best of 4:23.52 in the prelims, and 51st in the 200 free (1:40.99-career best) ... his career best of 15:08.71 in the 1,650 free came in the last chance meet ... also set a career time of 9:06.26 in the 1,000 free and fourth in the 1,650 free in a dual meet win over Purdue ... fourth in the 500 free in a dual meet with Michigan and Tennessee ... sixth in the same event the following week against Missouri and Ohio State.
FRESHMAN YEAR (2007-08)
Season-best time of 4:31.52 in the 500 free resulted in a second-place finish for the Hoosiers in a dual-meet victory over Purdue ... fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle at Tennessee (9:32.43) ... fifth in the 500 free (4:42.16) at Kentucky and ninth in the same event at the Hoosierland Open ... clocked a time of 1:45.18 to finish 11th in the 200-yard freestyle against No. 1 Texas and No. 5 Michigan ... opened his career with a sixth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle and seventh in the 200-yard freestyle at Missouri.
Nine-time All-American for St. Xavier High School ... earned the honor in the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relay in 2005, 2006 and 2007 ... also earned All-America consideration in the 500 free in 2004 ... helped St. Xavier to four state titles in as many seasons, running the school's streak to nine consecutive state championships ... state runner-up in the 500 free in 2006 and 2007, and finished fourth in the 200 free in 2006 ... helped the 400 free relay squad to a first-place finish in 2006 and 2007 after a runner-up showing in 2005 ... part of the 2005 Men's Junior National Championship team while competing with the Cincinnati Marlins ... son of Jim and Jenny Ginocchio ... born Aug. 27, 1988.
