JUNIOR YEAR (2009-10)
Earned his first trip to the NCAA Championships, finishing 40th in the 100 backstroke (49.05) and 38th in the 200 backstroke (1:46.00) ... finished fourth in the 200 back (1:43.24) and 11th in the 100 back (48.89) at the Big Ten Championships ... also placed 23rd in the 100 butterfly with a season best of 49.16 ... went a career best 48.33 on the 400 medley relay at Big Tens ... posted a career-best time of 1:43.17 in the 200 back at a last chance meet at Ohio State ... finished first in the 100 back vs. Purdue (49.89), at Northwestern (50.11) and at the Hoosierland Open (50.71) ... took third in the 100 back in a dual at Ohio State (51.41) ... victorious in the 200 backstroke vs. Purdue (1:47.33), at Louisville (1:47.75), at Kentucky (1:47.86), at the Hoosierland Open (1:47.94), at Texas (1:48.69) and at Northwestern (1:49.61) ... fourth in the 100 butterfly at Texas (51.43).
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2008-09)
Finished 10th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:45.02 at the Big Ten Championships ... also placed 19th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 49.52 ... finished 26th in the 100 fly (49.68) ... third in the 100 back and the 200 back at the Hoosierland Invitational ... fifth in the 100 back in a dual meet win at Purdue ... won the 100 back with a time of 50.74, and second in the 200 back in a dual meet win over Northwestern ... sixth in the 200 back in a dual meet with Michigan and Tennessee ... also finished 14th in the 100 butterfly.
FRESHMAN YEAR (2007-08)
Finished 21st in the 100-yard butterfly at the Big Ten Championships with a career-best time of 49.06 ... also had a season-best of 1:47.99 in the 200-yard backstroke to finish 23rd ... advanced to the consolation final of the 100-yard backstroke where he finished 17th with a season-best time of 50.10 ... took fourth in the 200 backstroke and recorded a time of 22.14 to finish sixth in the 50 free in a dual meet victory over Purdue ... fifth in the 100 back, fifth in the 100 fly, and sixth in the 200 back at Tennessee... sixth in the 100-yard backstroke and seventh in the 200-yard backstroke in a dual at Michigan ... placed third in the 100 back and fourth in the 200 back at Kentucky ...swam the lead-off leg of the 400-yard medley relay and 200-yard medley relay teams which finished third at the Hoosierland Open ... also placed seventh in the 100 fly and ninth in the 200 back ... ninth in the 100-yard backstroke and 11th in the 100-yard butterfly against No. 1 Texas and No. 5 Michigan ... took third in the 100 back at Northwestern ... opened the season with a win in the 50-yard freestyle (20.81) and third in the 200 back at Missouri ... fourth in the 100-meter butterfly and ninth in the 200-meter backstroke at the USA Swimming Sectionals.
Earned All-America distinction in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke for Princeton High School in 2006 ... turned in the 19th-best time in the nation in the 100 back ... five-time Greater Miami Conference champion ... holds league records in both the 100 fly and 100 back and owns six school records ... named the GMC Swimmer of the Meet in 2006 ... Junior National and U.S. Open qualifier ... also a three-year letterwinner in water polo for Princeton, helping the team to a regional championship in 2005 ... plays the viola and was a member of the Concert and Symphonic Orchestra ... son of Jim and Susan Spraul ... born Nov. 14, 1988.
