Sarah Stockwell is in her first season as a volunteer assistant coach after a standout four-year career for the Hoosiers.
After completing her IU career in the spring of 2009, Stockwell spent the 2009-10 academic year as a graduate assistant on the Indiana Strength and Conditioning staff. She is currently finishing up a master's degree in Applied Sport Science at IU.
Stockwell is currently the Indiana record holder in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.40) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.04). Both records were set at the 2009 Big Ten Championships her senior season, where she finished third in both events. Stockwell went on to compete at the NCAA Championships, placing 12th in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke to earn All-America honors. She also picked up All-America honors as a member of the 400 medley (11th) and 200 medley (14th) relays.
As a junior, Stockwell earned a pair of All-America certificates as a member of the 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard medley relay. She also participated at the NCAA meet in the 100-yard breaststroke (24th) and 200-yard breaststroke (29th).
As a sophomore she placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Big Ten Championships and was on the victorious 400-yard medley relay team. She went on to compete in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke at the NCAA Championships.
Her freshman season saw Stockwell score in three events at the Big Ten Championships, placing fifth in the 200 breaststroke and ninth in the 100 breaststroke.
