Todd Patrick enters his first season as a student coach after an outstanding four-year career for the Hoosiers.
SENIOR YEAR (2007-08)
Placed third in the 200 IM at the NCAA Championships ... earned All-America honors in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay and 400 free relay at the meet ... also competed in the 200 fly (18th) and the 400 IM (26th) at the national meet ... earned first-team All-Big Ten honors as a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay team ... set a new school record in the 50 free with his leadoff leg time of 19.89 ... took second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:44.31 (school record) ... sixth in the 100 butterfly (47.65) ... added another school record with a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly (1:43.73) ... victorious in the 400 medley relay (3:15.62), 200 individual medley (1:47.89), 100 freestyle (44.60) in a dual meet win over Purdue ... won the 200 freestyle (1:38.46) and 100 freestyle (45.07) and 200 IM (1:47.93) as the Hoosiers topped Tennessee, 166-134 ... member of the winning 200 medley relay team, first in the 400 individual medley (3:52.27), and second in the 200 free (1:37.26) in a double dual with Texas and Michigan ... took top honors in the 100 freestyle (45.06) and 200 butterfly (1:48.46) as Indiana defeated Kentucky, 186-114 ... competed for the U.S. at a three-meet event in Italy in November, finishing third in the 200-meter medley (2:01.38), 12th in the 50-meter freestyle (23.24), third in the 100-meter medley (55.28) and sixth in the 50-meter butterfly (24.68) ... swam leadoff leg of the 800 freestyle relay, the second leg of the 200 freestyle relay and third leg of the 200 medley relay teams that took first at the Hoosierland Open ... also won the 200 individual medley (1:49.43), 200 backstroke (1:49.67) and 100 butterfly (48.82) ... third in the 50 freestyle (20.66) and second in the 100 freestyle (45.54) ... member of the winning 200 medley relay team in a double dual with Texas and Michigan ... won the 100 freestyle (44.67) and 200 individual medley (1:48.86) ... third in the 200 butterfly (1:47.31) ... helped lead Indiana to victory over Northwestern with a win in the 400 medley relay (3:18.02), 200 butterfly (1:49.06), 100 freestyle (45.05) and 200 individual medley (1:50.28) ... owns the top three times in the 100 freestyle this season ... also has the top two times in the 200 IM and top four times in the 200 butterfly.
JUNIOR YEAR (2006-07)
Helped Indiana's 200-yard medley relay to a ninth-place finish and the 400-yard medley relay to an 11th-place showing at the NCAA Championships, earning two All-America honorable mention certificates to bring his career total to eight ... was 28th in the prelims of the 100-yard butterfly and 46th in the prelims of the 100-yard freestyle ... finished second in both medley relays at the Big Ten Championships to earn All-Big Ten second team honors ... was the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 9 ... picked up 19 event wins on the season, good for second on the team ... set a pool record in winning the 100 free at Ohio State ... had the fastest Indiana times on the season in the 100 free, 200-yard freestyle relay, 400 free relay and both medley relays ... had the second-fastest times in the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke and 800-yard freestyle relay ... turned in career-best times in the 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 100-yard butterfly this season ... appears in IU's record book in 14 events ... holds school records in four relays ... won a silver in the 200 IM at the Japan International Swim Meet.
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2005-06)
Earned a pair of All-America certificates as a member of both ninth-place medley relays at the NCAA Championships ... also competed in the 50-yard freestyle (38th) and the 100-yard freestyle (34th), as well as the 400-yard freestyle relay (21st) and the 800-yard freestyle relay (18th) at NCAAs ... member of the school- and meet-record setting Big Ten champion 200-yard medley relay unit ... helped set the school record in the 400-yard medley relay with a second-place effort at Big Tens ... placed in the top five in all three individual events at Big Tens ... finished third in the 50 free, fourth in the 100 free and fifth in the 200 free ... claimed 23 event titles on the year ... finished in the top three 36 times ... ended season among IU's all-time top 20 in the 50 free (fourth), 100 free (second), 200 free (sixth), 100 back (17th), 200 back (sixth), 200 IM (second) and 400 IM (fourth) ... also found in IU's meter record book in the 50 LCM free (sixth), 100 LCM free (third), 200 LCM free (sixth), 100 LCM back (sixth), 200 LCM IM (third) and 400 LCM IM (ninth).
FRESHMAN YEAR (2004-05)
IU's most active and dominant swimmer of the season ... named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week for his performance against Evansville ... won 20 event titles ... captured points for IU in five events at Big Tens ... earned All-America status in four relays at the NCAA Championships.
Won Missouri High School State Athletics Association State Championships in the 200-yard IM and 100-yard butterfly ... his time in the 200 IM (1:50.09) was a state record ... as a freshman at Marquette, finished as the state runner-up in both the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke ... competed at the U.S. Open in 2001 and 2002 ... swam for Rockwood Swim Club, coached by Mary Liston ... son of Cheryl Patrick ... born June 22, 1985.
