COLUMBUS, Ohio - A pair of Indiana University swimmers took to the pool on day two of the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the McCorkle Aquatic Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Competing in the 100 breaststroke, senior Aaron Opell finished 23rd in the morning prelims with a time of 53.85. That is a new personal best for Opell and just outside of the top five all-time in school history. Opell will compete in the 200 breaststroke on Sunday, the event he won at the Big Ten Championships in the same pool last month.

Junior Doug Spraul placed 40th in the prelims of the 100 backstroke with a time of 49.05. Spraul will compete in the 200 backstroke on Sunday, the final day of competition.
