The Indiana Hoosiers showed no signs of fatigue as they won their second consecutive dual meet in less than 24 hours. The Hoosiers completed the sweep of the state of Michigan with a 160.5-82.5 victory over the Michigan State Spartans. On Friday night, Indiana upset No. 9 Michigan.
As they did Friday night, Indiana came out of the blocks quickly with a first and second place finish in the 400 medley relay. Ken Ackermann, Tom Davis, Tom Wanezek and Don Gold won in a time of 3:20.27.
The Hoosiers also collected wins in the 50 free, 200 IM, 200 fly, 1000 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 400 free relay and both diving events. Wanezek and Brian Stryker took first and second in the 50 free and were followed by an Indiana sweep in the 200 IM. Kyle Goodrich placed first followed by Joe Trent and Heath Montgomery. Stryker added a first in 100 free to go along with his second place in the 50 free
Jason Carlberg, Ackermann and Davis continued to swim well as they each placed first in their events. Carlberg won the 200 fly, Ackermann the 200 back, and Davis was victorious in the 200 breast.
In the final event, the 400 free relay, Gold, Stryker, Tony Manna and Wanezek placed first with a time of 3:04.13.
In the diving well, Mike Collier continued to dominate the competition with a pair of firsts on the one and three-meter springboards. Indiana took the top four spots in each event.
Indiana will be in action again next Saturday when they travel to West Lafayette. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
