BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The heated Indiana-Purdue rivalry continues in the pool this Saturday as the IU men's swimming and diving squad heads to West Lafayette to take on the Boilermakers in a dual meet Saturday beginning at noon.

The Hoosiers already have some ground to make up as the diving portion of the dual meet took place on Jan. 21 and Purdue holds a 30-8 lead heading into the swimming events.

Indiana is coming off a double dual meet sweep of No. 18 Louisville and Virginia Tech last weekend in Louisville. The Hoosiers walked away with nine event victories at the meet, including wins in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke which earned sophomore Eric Ress Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors. Ress set pool records in both events, while Illya Larin (1,000 freestyle, 500 freestyle) and Bryan Chovanec, Titus Knight, Ante Zoricic and Cody Miller in the 200 freestyle relay also set new pool marks.

Ress currently has the third-fastest collegiate time in the 100-yard backstroke this season and ranks second in the 200 backstroke. Ryan Hinshaw ranks among the top 30 in the 500 freestyle, while Bryan Chovanec is 12th in the 50 freestyle after posting a time of 19.86 as leadoff in last weekend's 200 freestyle relay.

The Hoosiers are looking to avenge last year's 176-124 loss to the Boilermakers as they prepare for the 2011 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., Feb. 23-26. This will be the final dual meet of the season for Indiana heading into the conference meet.

Indiana is currently ranked No. 13 in the TYR/CSCAA Dual Meet poll, while the Boilermakers come in at No. 23.
