BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
The seventh-ranked Indiana men's swimming and diving team will compete in their final dual meets of the 2012-13 season with a split squad weekend, hosting Evansville on Friday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. ET and traveling to Purdue on Saturday, Feb. 9 at noon ET.
The team is coming off a resounding 193-107 win at No. 14 Louisville on Feb. 1. The squad was led by junior Cody Miller, who picked up wins in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 100 butterfly, and junior Eric Ress, who was a winner in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke.
The Hoosiers are 7-2 in dual meets this season, with the only losses coming against No. 2 Michigan and No. 1 Texas at a dual meet in Austin back in October. Indiana is 3-1 vs. Big Ten teams with victories over No. 13 Ohio State, No. 20 Iowa and No. 24 Penn State.
Friday's meet vs. Evansville at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center will give some of the younger IU swimmers a chance to test themselves in a racing environment. A majority of the squad will compete at Purdue on Saturday as the Hoosiers look to build upon last year's 166-134 victory over the Boilermakers in Bloomington.
After this weekend preparations will turn to the 2013 Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, Feb. 27-March 2 at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington. Tickets for the event can be purchased by calling 866-IUSPORTS.
