    Swander, Fesenko Excel at Missouri Grand Prix

    COLUMBIA, Mo. - Indiana student coaches Kevin Swander and Sergiy Fesenko were in action at the Missouri Grand Prix on Friday, Feb. 16, with both turning in impressive performances.

    Swander, the 2006 Big Ten Swimmer of the Championships, turned in a time of 28.03 to win the 50-meter breaststroke. The time was the fastest in the world this year.

    Fesenko finished third in the 800-meter freestyle, turning in a time of 8:05.52, just 0.05 seconds behind Mission Viejo's Chad La Tourette. Trojan Swim Club's Ous Mellouli won the event in 7:54.85.

    The Missouri Grand Prix is a long-course meet taking place Feb. 16-19 at the University of Missouri's Aquatic Center.
