    HOOSIERS FINISH FIFTH AT BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

    Minneapolis, Minn.- The Indiana men's swimming and diving team finished 5th in the 1998 Big Ten Championships. The Hoosiers began the three day competition in fifth place and were able to hold on to this position over the course of the weekend.

    Several Indiana swimmers contributed to the Hoosiers' scoring effort. Ben Hunter finished seventh in the 1650 free (15:30.02), Ken Ackerman finished eighth in the 200 back (1:47.70) followed by teammate Kyle Goodrich in 11th place (1:48.81), Tom Wanezak finished 13th in the 100 free (45.21) and Tom Davis finished seventh in the 200 breast (2:03.33).

    The IU men's swimming and diving team will be returning home on Saturday, March 7th, to take on Kentucky. Competion is set to begin at 11 a.m. followed by finals at 5 p.m.
