Hoosier Swimming Sending 13 Men to NCAA Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's swimming has qualified 10 swimmers for the 2013 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, March 28-30 at the IU Natatorium/IUPUI Sports Complex in Indianapolis.
In addition to the 10 qualified swimmers, the Hoosiers will take three relay alternate to Indianapolis. Divers for the championship will be selected at the NCAA Zone C Championships, taking place this Thursday through Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.
Leading the way is Big Ten Champion Cody Miller. Miller, who won Big Ten titles in the 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke, will swim those events in Indianapolis, along with the 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay. Miller was one of just four student-athletes entered in the meet with three automatic qualifying times.
Indiana's other invitees are senior Jim Barbiere (200 free, 500 free, 1,650 free), senior Nicholas Schwab (500 free, 400 individual medley), sophomore Steve Schmuhl (200 individual medley, 400 individual medley, 200 butterfly), sophomore Mike Hurley (200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke), senior Sam Trahin (200 individual medley, 400 individual medley, 200 breaststroke), freshman Tanner Kurz (200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke), senior Daniel Kanorr (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle), junior James Wells (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke) and junior Eric Ress (200 individual medley, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke).
