    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University will send three current student-athletes and one former swimmer to the USA Swimming Spring Championships in East Meadow, N.Y., from March 27-31.

    Current swimmers Alec Haley and Justin Peterfish from the men's team and Brittany Barwegen from the women's team, as well as former Hoosier Kevin Swander, a 13-time All-American at IU, will participate in the five-day meet.

    Swander, who serves as a student coach for IU, is the top seed in the 100-meter breaststroke and the fourth seed in the 200-meter breaststroke. He will also swim in the 200-meter individual medley.

    Haley, who just wrapped up his junior season, will also swim in the 200 breast. Additionally, the Casper, Wyo., native will compete in the 400-meter individual medley.

    Peterfish, a sophomore from Delaware, Ohio, will join Swander and Haley in the 200 breast. He will also swim in the 100 breast at the championship meet.

    Barwegen, a freshman from Plano, Texas, will compete in a trio of events, swimming in the 100-meter butterfly, the 200-meter butterfly and the 200 IM.
