    INDIANA FINISHES 21ST AT NCAA MEET

    Auburn, Ala. -- Indiana concluded the NCAA Championships with 56 points and 21st place in the team standings. Stanford won with a three-day total of 599. Junior diver Mike Collier added a sixth place in the platform to his fifth on the one-meter and fourth on the three-meter.

    Collier's sixth was his lowest finish of the meet, but by making the finals he achieved All-American status. After the afternoon prelims, Collier finished in sixth place. He remained there in the finals with a score of 715.05. Brent Roberts of Alabama won the event with a score of 834.45.

    Sophomore Ken Ackermann just missed the consolation finals in the 200 backstroke. His time of 1:46.25 put him in 18th place. The 16th and consolation qualifying time was 1:45.98 by Rob Canalas of Stanford.

    Tom Davidson completed his first NCAA meet with his highest finish in the three days. His score of 459.50 was good enough for 10th place.
