    BOISE, Idaho - Boise State head swimming and diving coach Kristin Hill named David Legler as the new head diving coach for the 2009-10 season. Legler is an accomplished diver and recent graduate from Indiana University.

    "David will be a valuable asset to our program," said Hill. "He is a great communicator and thrives on challenging tasks that require strong leadership and time-management skills that give others the chance to excel. We are excited to welcome David to our staff and our program."

    As a student-athlete, Legler was very successful on the platform. He earned a silver medal at the Big Ten Championships in 2007 and a bronze medal in 2008. He was also an NCAA Zone qualifier from 2006-08, and helped Indiana to a Big Ten team title in 2006. In addition to his accomplishments in the pool, Legler was also a team captain and Sportsmanship Award winner in 2007-08.

    Legler graduated last May from Indiana University with two degrees in Accounting and Entrepreneurship. He has also spent the last five summers as a coach for the Indiana Summer Diving Camp in Bloomington, Ind. Legler grew up in Blue Spring, Mo. where he also helped Blue Springs High School to a state title in 2004.
