    Hoosiers Open Competition at AT&T National Diving Championships

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Indiana University divers took to the boards on day one of the 2009 AT&T National Diving Championships at the Morcom Aquatics Center on the campus of Florida State University.

    The team of Brittney Feldman and Christina Loukas placed third in the quarterfinals of the women's three-meter springboard synchronized event with a score of 274.50. Feldman will be a senior at IU this fall, while Loukas recently completed her eligibility. Sophomore Gabby Agostino and junior Christina Kouklakis were ninth with a total of 218.04 points, while senior Amy Korthauer and junior Heidi Mahnken finished 12th (162.63).

    In the synchronized platform prelims, Hoosiers to the 3-4-5 spots, with Korthauer and sophomore Nicole Brehm third (236.91), Mahnken and Feldman fourth (227.79), and freshman Amy Cozad and Agostino fifth (212.04).

    In men's competition, recent graduates Robert and Jonathan Dohring placed ninth in the three-meter springboard synchronized competition with a score of 306.30. Senior David Piercy and freshman Casey Johnson were 15th (266.97). The Dohring brothers also teamed up for a fourth-place finish in the prelims of the synchronized platform event (274.95).

    The AT&T National Diving Championships runs through Aug. 16.
