BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the first time in his career, Indiana University sophomore Eric Ress has been named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Ress won six of the eight events he swam as the Hoosiers picked up dual meet wins on back-to-back days, topping Northwestern (159-131) and Kentucky (155-126). Coming back the following day, Ress won two of his three individual events with a mark of 51.19 in the 100 butterfly and a time of 1:51.67 in the 200 individual medley.

The men's swimming and diving squad is off this week as it prepares to take on national powers Michigan and Texas in a double dual meet, Nov. 5-6 in Bloomington. The meet will get underway on Friday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. with a second session on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m.
