BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Helping to lead No. 14 Indiana to a 158-129 win over Northwestern last Friday, junior swimmer Aaron Opell and sophomore diver Landon Marzullo were named the Big Ten Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Marzullo took home the diving award for the second time in as many weeks after finishing first on both the one-meter and three-meter springboard. On the one meter, Marzullo tallied 352.30 points, nearly 33 points ahead of teammate Linus Altman-Kurosaki. He kept his perfect dual meet record in tact with a 73-point win on the three-meter springboard, finishing with 393.05 points.

Opell also completed a sweep of his events for the second consecutive weekend, winning the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 400 individual medley. Opell finished in a time of 57.17 in the 100 breast and picked up another nine points for the Hoosiers with a winning time of 2:04.71 in the 200 breaststroke, more than two seconds ahead of second-place finisher Alex Tyler of Northwestern. He capped off the day with a time of 3:57.94 in the 400 IM.

The Hoosiers return to the pool this Friday as they travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. to take on No. 1 Texas and No. 5 Michigan. Swimming gets underway at 5 p.m. on Friday night and continues at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
