    HOOSIERS STUMBLE IN HOME OPENER
    Kansas tops Indiana, 140-103

The Indiana men's swimming and diving team lost today to the Kansas Jayhawks at the Counsilman and Billingsly Aquatic Center, 140-103. The Hoosiers won only two swim events, both by senior Rob Iglinski in the 200 IM and 200 butterfly. The men's diving team swept the one and three springboard competitions.

Iglinski placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.84 and the 200 fly in 1:53.48. Jeff Ostermann finished second in the 200 fly at 1:53.74. Kansas took first and second in the 500 free and 400 free relay, and swept the 100 free.

The bright spot for the Hoosiers, the diving team, dominated both springboard events. On the one-meter, Jon Repetti (301.10), Tom Davidson (280.90), and Ryan Kosanic (273.75) took first, second, and third. On the three-meter, Indiana took spots one through four. Davidson (301.60) finished first, Kosanic (294.90) second, freshman Jason Graves (258.75) third, and Repetti (257.00) fourth.

Indiana will be in action again as they host the Indiana Invitational November 21-23. Preliminaries start at 10:00am and the finals are at 6:00pm. Indiana will be competing against Cincinnati, Ohio State, and South Carolina.

Quoting Coach Kirchner: "We knew coming into this meet that it was going to be a good test. We got into a deficit that we couldn't get out of. We just didn't win the races we needed to win, or the ones that would make a difference."
