    ACKERMANN AND DAVIS SWIM AGAINST TEAM USA

    Evanston, Ill. -- Two Indiana swimmers, Ken Ackermann and Tom Davis, swam this weekend in the Swim Meet of Champions at Northwestern. The meet featured an "all-star" Big Ten team versus Team USA.

    Davis, a senior, competed in the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke. In the 200 breast he finished in sixth place with a time of 2:29.24. Vilmos Kovacs of Purdue won the race with a time of 2:18.95. Davis swam the 100 breast in 1:08.47 to finish in 10th place. Kovacs also won the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.19.

    Ackermann, a junior, swam the 100 and 200 meter backstroke. He finished seventh in the 200 back at 2:17.07. Tom Dolan, a graduate of Michigan, won the race for Team USA in a time of 2:05.91. In the 100 back, Ackermann came in eighth place with a time of 1:02.83. Alex Massura won the event in :58.18. Massura swims for Minnesota.

    The Hoosiers will host the Indiana Invitational Nov. 20-22. It will be held at the Counsilman and Billingsley Aquatic Center with prelims at 10 am and finals at 6 pm.
