INDIANA EXTENDS LEAD IN INVITATIONAL Hoosiers lead second-place South Carolina, 785-548
In the second day of the Indiana Invitational, the Hoosiers continued to lead by 237 points. Following Indiana and South Carolina are Cincinnati with 526, Ohio State with 426, Kentucky at 60, and Pittsburgh with 27. Indiana had victories in the 100 backstroke, 800 free relay, and three-meter springboard diving.
In the 100 back, Kyle Goodrich won the event with a time of :50.74. Tony Manna and Ken Ackermann finished fifth and eighth, respectively. In the 200 free, the Hoosiers placed five swimmers in the finals. Mike Richley, Chris Gage, Brian Stryker finished third, fourth, and fifth, and Rob Chelle and Duke Shin, were seventh and eighth.
Indiana won the 800 free relay in a time of 6:44.78. Kyle Goodrich, Mike Richley, Brian Stryker, and Chris Gage teamed up to place first in the event. In the 200 medley relay, Indiana placed third and fifth.
Mike Collier continued a strong showing at the Invitational by winning the three-meter with a score of 597.90. Ryan Kosanic, Tom Davidson, and Jason Graves finished fifth, sixth, and eighth in the competition.
The final day of competition will start tomorrow at 9:00am with the preliminaries. Tomorrow's finals have been moved up to 3:00pm.
