    INDIANA FINISHES FIFTH AT INDIANA INVITE
    Hoosiers defeat Miami (Fla.) 171-71 in dual meet

    The Hoosiers finished right where they started with a fifth place finish at the Indiana Invitational. South Carolina won the meet with a final score of 760 points. Purdue was second with 702 followed by Missouri with 662 and Pittsburgh with 642.50.

    Chris Gage finished fifth for the Hoosiers in the 1650 free with a time of 15:54.90. Ken Ackermann swam made the 200 back finals and swam 1:51.27 to take sixth place.

    In the 100 free, Brian Stryker was the Hoosiers top finisher with a time of 46.24 which was good for seventh place. Tom Davis swam 2:04.87 and finished sixth in the 200 breast.

    On the platform, Mike Collier finished in first place with a 514.55 points. Rio Ramirez of Miami (Fla.) finished second with a score of 474.80.

    Throughout the meet, Indiana and Miami (Fla.) competed in a dual meet. The Hoosiers won the dual meet by the score of 171-71. The win raises their record to 5-2 on the season.

    The next meet for Indiana is not until Jan. 15 when they host Penn State. On Jan. 16 the Hoosiers will host Cincinnati in a coed meet. Both meets are at home and will be at the Counsilman and Billingsley Aquatic Center.
