    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - A seventh-place finish in the women's platform competition by Indiana University sophomore Laura Ryan highlighted day two of the 2012 USA Diving Winter National Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.

    Ryan was seventh after the morning semifinal with a score of 619.90. She scored 339.45 points in the Sunday night final round to finish with a score of 959.35. Haley Ishimatsu won the event with 1068.00 points. Hoosier junior Amy Cozad competed in the morning semifinals, finishing ninth in that round with a score of 596.05. Despite qualifying for the evening final, she did not compete.

    The men's 3-meter springboard quarterfinal also took place on Sunday, as junior Zac Nees placed 25th with a score of 351.40. Sophomore Bryce Ogden finished 29th with 327.10 points.

    The 2012 USA Diving Winter National Championships continue through Thursday, Dec. 22. On the schedule for Monday are the men's 3-meter semifinal and final, and the women's platform synchro prelims and final.
