ORLANDO, Fla. – After battling adversity through the tournament, the Indiana men’s tennis team closed in strong form as they won all 14 matches against the Citadel to close out the UCF Invitational.

Junior Sven Lalic, the No. 80 ranked men's collegiate singles player teamed with Dimitrije Tasic to get things started with an 8-1 doubles victory. The duo also won their singles matches in straight sets, Lalic 6-3, 6-2 and Tasic 6-1, 6-0.

IU coach Randy Bloemendaal said he was pleased with how his team responded in difficult circumstances. The Hoosiers were late getting into Orlando after extensive travel delays and suffered some early setbacks in their matches in the first two days of the tournament.

“I thought we showed great resiliency in the face of adversity,” Bloemendaal said. “For us to come back and win our last 19 matches in this tournament shows we are growing up and have a bright future ahead of us.”

The Hoosiers are back in action on Jan. 24 at Kentucky with matches starting at 4:00 p.m.
