    Hoosiers Fall 4-3 to No. 8 Oklahoma

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's tennis (1-5) fell 4-3 to No. 8 Oklahoma (4-0) on Friday. The Hoosiers scored big wins, as Sam Monette and Isade Juneau knocked off the 12th ranked doubles team, and Monette defeated the 71st ranked singles player.

    In doubles, the Hoosiers got the win at number two and at number one, Monette and Juneau took down No. 12 Costin Paval and Dane Webb 8-6, locking up the doubles point for the Hoosiers. Monette and Juneau are now 2-0 this season against ranked tandems.

    In singles play, Monette was the first to finish, taking down the 71st ranked Webb in straight sets. Monette tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win for the first win over a ranked opponent in his career. Down 2-0, the Sooners began to mount their comeback.

    First No. 103 Paval defeated Juneau 6-4, 6-3 at number one, and Leonard Stakhovsky won 6-2, 6-2 over IU's Elliott Yee at number six to knot things up at 2-2. Next to finish was a tight second set between Dimitrije Tasic and Axel Alvarez Llamas. Alvarez Llamas won 6-3, 7-6 to take a 3-2 Sooner lead.

    That left Josh MacTaggart on the court against No. 36 Guillermo Alcorta in a three setter, and freshman Daniel Bednarczyk in a three setter of his own at number five. After losing a tiebreaker in the first set, MacTaggart won the second set 6-2. Alcorta charged out to a 4-0 lead in the third set. MacTaggart got back into things, winning three of the next four games to close in to a 5-3 deficit, but Alcorta was able to close it out for a 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 victory, clinching the win for the Sooner.

    Bednarczyk won the first set 7-6 before falling 6-7 in the second. Peerakit Siributwong forfeited after the team score was decided.
