LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Indiana men's tennis team dropped to 4-1 on the season with a 6-1 defeat at No. 32 Lousiville on Feb. 10 in the Hoosiers' first road contest of the season. Senior Dmytro Ishtuganov claimed IU's only point with a victory at the No. 1 singles.

Despite close doubles matches especially at the No. 1 slot, the Hoosiers eventually dropped the doubles point. U of L's No. 47 nationally ranked team of Jeremy Clark and Jakob Gustafsson narrowly escaped Istuganov and sophomore Dara McLoughlin at No. 1 doubles. The Cardinal twosome won the match, 8-7. IU dropped the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches by a score of 8-2 as the Cardinals claimed the doubles point.

In singles, three of the six matches extended into three sets. Ishtuganov battled Damar Johnson to a 7-5, 7-5 score in the No. 1 spot. The victory ran Ishtuganov's dual match singles record to 5-0. He is 12-4 overall on the season.

Junior David Bubenicek, senior Neil Kenner and junior Arnaud Roussel saw their No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles matches, respectively, got three-sets. Bubenicek won the first set, 6-3, against Louisville's Gustafsson, only to see the Cardinal come back to win the second and third sets, 6-3, 6-2.

Kenner, like Bubenicek, won the opening set in a tiebreaker at the No. 4 spot over Clark, 7-6. Clark rebounded to win the final two sets over the Hoosier senior captain, 6-0, 6-1. Roussel dropped the first set, 6-2, to Jhonny Berrido. The junior tansfer claimed the second set, 7-5, but came up short in the third set super tiebreaker.
