MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The No. 60 Indiana men's tennis team dropped its second straight road contest to a top-40 team as it fell to No. 39 Middle Tennessee State, 5-2, on Feb. 11. The Hoosiers got off to a good start and captured the doubles points, only to fall in five of the six singles affairs. IU fell to 4-2 on the year, while the Blue Raiders improved to 3-1.

In doubles, MTSU jumped on top early with an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 position. The Hoosiers' No. 3 team of redshirt freshman Mak Kendall and sophomore Mike McCarthy picked up an 8-6 win over Greg Pollack and Rishan Kuruppu to even the doubles at one. Senior Dmytro Ishtuganov and sophomore Dara McLoughlin gave IU the 1-0 lead following doubles with a 9-7 victory over Brandon Allen and Kai Schledorn. Ishtuganov and McLoughlin improved to 3-1 as a tandem this season in the victory over a team that was ranked in the preseason ITA doubles top 10.

At the No. 1 singles position, Ishtuganov fell for the first time in five six matches against nationally ranked Born. The No. 97 player in the nation defeated the Hoosiers' top player, 6-4, 6-3, to knot the match at one. It was the first loss of the spring season for Ishtuganov, who fell to 12-5 on the year.
