Hoosiers Drop Heartbreaker to No. 35 Michigan

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's tennis (10-10, 2-2) fell 4-3 to No. 35 Michigan (9-7, 4-1). Indiana won the doubles point behind a huge win at one doubles and got wins from Sam Monette and Dimitrije Tasic in the contest.
Monette and Isade Juneau took down 12th-ranked Evan King and Shaun Bernstein at number one doubles to clinch he doubles point. Juneau and Monette entered the match ranked 28th but are sure to move up after winning 9-8.
Michigan rallied back to take a 2-1 lead with wins at number three and number five singles. Monette tied things back up quickly with his 6-3, 7-5 victory over No. 98 Vlad Stefan at number two singles. Tasic knocked over the next domino with his 6-4, 6-3 win over Michael Zhu at number four, leaving Josh MacTaggart at number one and Chris Essick at number six on the court.
Up 3-2, the Hoosiers needed a victory in one of the two remaining bouts to take the win. MacTaggart was unable to keep up with 15th-ranked Evan King after taking the first set. King prevailed 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, leaving Tasic and Bernstein on the court to decide the match at number six.
The Michigan senior was able to take control in the third and defeat the IU freshman. Essick fell in a tight match, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.
