IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Hoosiers dropped their second straight match on Sunday, falling to the Iowa Hawkeyes. After taking the doubles point, the Hoosiers were unable to catch their footing in singles action, getting only one singles win, from freshman Jeremy Langer, en route to a 5-2 Iowa win.
Langer and sophomore Santiago Gruter took their number one singles match 8-3. Sophomore Lachlan Ferguson and freshman Stephen Vogl won at number two doubles to close out the doubles point.
Langer took his match at number three singles. He blanked Nikita Zotov in the first set, winning 6-0 and held on in the second set for the win. Zotov fought back to force a tiebreaker in the second set. Langer won the tiebreaker for a 7-6 second-set victory.
