Hoosiers Take Out the Badgers, 5-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's tennis (17-8, 5-4 Big Ten, No. 31) took down Wisconsin on Sunday by a score of 5-2. The Hoosiers led from start to finish, taking the doubles point and clinching the match at 4-0 before the Badgers scored their first point.
The Hoosiers won at number two and number three doubles, with Alastair Barnes and Josh MacTaggart taking over at number two after Alexander Kostanov and Alex Robles tied the score at 3-3. Barnes and MacTaggart won the next five games to clinch the doubles point for IU.
In singles, MacTaggart continued his dominance, winning at number two over Fredrik Ask, nearly going unblemished in the match to win 6-0, 6-1. Stephen Vogl took down Kostanov at number four to put the Hoosiers up 3-0. Vogl won 6-1, 6-3. Next, Isade Juneau closed out a tight second set to defeat Rod Carey at number one. After winning the first 6-1, Juneau was able to fight off Carey for a 7-6 (8-6) win in the second. The Hoosiers clinched the match with the victory, up 4-0.
The next match to finish saw Wisconsin's Quinton Vega win 7-5, 6-4 over Jeremy Langer at number two. Will Kendall got the next win, knocking off Petr Satral 6-3, 7-6 at number five. For Kendall it is his fifth-consecutive singles win. Wisconsin got a win from Billy Bertha over Dimitrije Tasic to close the match (7-6 (4), 6-4).
