Indiana Upends Penn State, 5-2

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Hoosiers closed out their road conference slate with a win at Penn State on Sunday. IU swept doubles play and then scored wins in four of six singles matches for a 5-2 victory. The Hoosiers are 14-8 this season and 4-4 in Big Ten action.
Senior Lachlan Ferguson won convincingly at number one singles, defeating Eddie Bourchier 6-3, 6-0. Junior Santiago Gruter was similarly dominant, taking down Jason Lee by a 6-1, 6-2 tally at number three singles.
Gruter and Jeremy Langer combined for an 8-2 win at number two doubles. Ferguson and Josh MacTaggart showed toughness at number one doubles, as did Isade Juneau and Alexander van Gils at number three doubles. IU took both matches in tiebreakers.
MacTaggart clinched the win for IU at number four singles, defeating Bryan Welnetz in three sets. The win put the Hoosiers up 4-2. Juneau added the final point, winning in three sets at number five.
