Bubenicek, McLoughlin Earn Doubles Win at ITA's, Roussel Advances at Hoosier Invite

Senior David Bubenicek and junior Dara McLoughlin won their first doubles match of the day at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Midwest Regional, while senior Arnaud Roussel advanced in both singles and doubles at the Hoosier Invite on Friday, Oct. 20.
In the first round of the ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by Minnesota, Bubenicek and McLoughlin defeated Kevin Hayward and John Pelton of Western Michigan, 8-6. The Hoosier duo is seeded fourth in the tournament.
Back in Bloomington, Roussel reached the semifinals of the Hoosier Invitational with two wins on the day. He defeated Chad True of Western Kentucky, 6-4, 6-2 in the first round, then came back to win in three sets over Gian Hodgson from Wisconsin, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. He faces Michael Dierberger of Wisconsin in his first match on Saturday.
Roussel also reached the doubles semifinals with sophomore Peter Antons. The two beat the team of David Bowman and Sam Patterson from Western Kentucky, 8-0 in the first round.
Antons and sophomore Mak Kendell each won in the first round of singles before falling in the second round. Antons earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Quinn Saine from Western Kentucky. Kendell defeated Louisville's Pablo Camacho, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) for the win in round one.
The Hoosiers continue in both tournaments on Saturday, Oct. 21. Complete results will be posted on IUHOOSIERS.com at the end of each day.
