BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Eight Hoosiers saw action at the Wilson/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Friday. Seven of those five advanced to the main draw of singles competition, up from just three in 2008. Indiana saw four play their way into the second round of the main draw, senior Lachlan Ferguson, junior Santiago Gruter, sophomore Jeremy Langer and freshman Josh MacTaggart. Ferguson was the lone Hoosier to advance in last season's regional. Two IU doubles teams also advanced to the second round of the tournament.

Ferguson made quick work of Dan Klingenberg of IUPUI, winning 6-1, 6-0. He and Gruter also advanced to the second round of doubles action after a bye through round one. Gruter won a long one with Robert Hall of Louisville. After falling in the first set, Gruter stormed back for the win, taking the second set 6-0 and the third 6-3.

Langer rebounded from a 5-7 fall in the first set to win the second and third sets by the same score of 6-3. He also advanced in doubles action via bye with his teammate Maxime Armengaud. MacTaggart won convincingly over Chris Leeper of Kentucky (6-1, 6-1).

Doubles action continues at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday, and singles matches begin at 11 a.m. ET. For live updates from the courts, follow the Hoosiers on Twitter.
